Gordon & MacPhail’s The Glenlivet 21 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky
About Gordon & MacPhail's The Glenlivet 21 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky
The Glenlivet 21 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is then matured for 21 years (it is legally old enough to drink itself) in Elgin, Scotland, in casks that were formerly used to mature bourbon and sherry. Once the whisky has matured, it is bottled behind a vintage Glenlivet label that was last used by the distillery decades ago.The Glenlivet 21 Year Old has a floral aroma, with notes of dry grass and cedar. The flavor is soft, with gentle notes of mustard seeds, rich fruits, and spicy wood that ultimately lead to a luxurious, oily finish that has a touch of fruits.

About Gordon & MacPhail
Situated in the Speyside region of Scotland, Glenburgie Distillery (pronounced glen-burg-ee) sits just off the main Aberdeen-Inverness road between the burghs of Forres and Elgin. The distillery was founded in 1810 by William Paul, who originally named it Kilnflat. In 1878, however, the distillery changed hands and was renamed Glenburgie. The distillery's unique location and water source — it is surrounded by temperate and fertile terrain and sources water from local springs on nearby Burghie Hill — contribute to the fruity, floral whisky that Glenburgie produces. In 1935, the distillery was acquired by Hiram Walker; since then, the whisky produced at Glenburgie has been an essential component in Ballantine's Whisky. As a result, there are few official bottlings of Glenburgie Single Malt Whiskey and the chance to obtain one is exceedingly rare.
Founded in 1895, Gordon & MacPhail is a family-owned, independent bottler of Scotch whisky. The company was founded by James Gordon and John Alexander MacPhail, who opened "in New, Centrical, and Commodious Premises, No's 38 and 40 South Street... a Family Grocers, Tea, Wine & Spirit Merchant,"reported the Elgin Courant on May 24, 1895. Among the company's first employees was John Urquhart, a fifteen year-old apprentice who helped James Gordon select and purchase casks of whisky to bottle and sell at the store. When MacPhail retired in March 1915, Urquhart becam e a partner in the business, and when Gordon died suddenly just two weeks later, Urquhart became the senior partner. By 1950, Gordon & MacPhail held one of the largest inventories of bottled malt whiskies in the entire world, many of which were not available anywhere else.
About Scotch
Scotch is the most popular whisky in the world and is considered the king of them all! There are five whisky regions in Scotland (six if you count the not officially recognized Islands), and each of them produces spirits with unique properties and distinct tasting notes. (The type of grain used determents the type of the scotch.)
Malt whisky is made of malted barley, and grain whisky uses other grains like corn or wheat. Most of the time, a whisky is blended from different distilleries hence the name blended scotch, but if a malt whisky is produced in a single distillery, we get something extraordinary called a single malt.

About The Glenlivet
During the early 19th century, illegal distilleries were commonplace throughout the Speyside region of Scotland. In 1823, however, Alexander Gordon pushed the Excise Act of 1823 through Parliament. The Excise Act allowed illegal distillers throughout Scotland to apply for and obtain licenses to legally distill spirits. In 1824, a businessman named George Smith applied for one of the first licenses in the Speyside region of Scotland and opened the doors to The Glenlivet Distillery. For nearly two centuries, The Glenlivet Distillery has been producing the “single malt whisky that started it all.”About Scotch

The First Edition 31 Year Old Port Ellen Single Malt Whisky
About The First Edition 31 Year Old Port Ellen Single Malt Whisky
Situated along the Kildalton coast on the island of Islay, Port Ellen Distillery was founded in 1825 by Alexander Ker Mackay. At the time, the distillery became renown for its innovative and experimental techniques: it was the first distillery to incorporate Septimus Fox's spirit safe design into its distillation process, and was one of the first distilleries to trade directly with the United States.Over the course of the 20th century, however, the distillery changed hands numerous times. In 1966, Port Ellen Distillery was reopened (it had been forced to close its doors as a result of Prohibition) and refurbished with four new stills heated by a mechanical coal stoker system. Although the distillery was forced to close its doors again in 1983 as a result of slumping demand, the whisky distilled in the 17 years between its re-opening and final closure has acquired a reputation as some of the finest to have ever been made.
The First Edition 31 Year Old Port Ellen Single Malt Scotch Whisky was distilled in 1982 at the famed distillery and bottled in 2014. As a result of the unique, smoky peat used during distillation, the whisky has an intense and complex flavor profile. It has a sweet aroma of dried citrus, stone fruits and pepper that give way to notes of pears, apples, cinnamon, cloves and tart cherries on the palate, which are complemented with a subtle undertone of smoke and peat. The finish is constantly evolving, with hints of cloves, ginger, berries and oak tannins.
Bottled at cask strength in a stunning Glencairn crystal decanter, the whisky is enclosed in a rosewood box and includes two crystal glasses and a certificate of authenticity.
"Port Ellen's price has soared for a straightforward reason," says Nick Morgan. "Scarcity is the driver."

The Classic Cask 40 Year Old Rare Scotch Whisky
About The Classic Cask 40 Year Old Rare Scotch Whisky
The use of wooden barrels to store and transport liquids dates back to 2690 B.C., when ancient Egyptians during the Early Dynastic Period began replacing clay vessels with wooden casks in order to meet the demands of their sprawling civilization. The advantages of wooden barrels were evident — not only were they less fragile than clay vessels, but their cylindrical shape allowed them to be rolled rather than carried across short distances. As settlers along the Nile quickly realized, however, barrels made from wooden staves imparted a unique color and flavor profile to the liquids stored within. The Classic Cask 40 Year Old Rare Scotch Whisky is a 40 year-old whisky that was blended together under the supervision of renowned Master Blenders David Hallgarten and Robert Mendelshon. Together, the pair sourced some of the finest whiskies in Scotland that had already aged for 15 years in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks. Once the whiskies were identified, they were blended together and put back in their original casks for an additional 25 years. After this quarter-century beautyrest, the whiskies were finished for six more months in casks that were previously used to mature Oloroso sherry. The Classic Cask 40 Year Old Rare Scotch Whisky has an incredible aroma of raisins, maple syrup, dates and warm spices. Notes of marzipan, figs, honeyed oak, red fruits and chili dominate the palate, and lead to a finish accented by hints of mint, oak and cherries. The whisky earned the Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2014, where it was named "Best Blended Scotch 16 Years & Older"and "Best Blended Scotch Whisky." Only 1,980 bottles of this whisky have ever been produced. Pick up a bottle of the best today!About The Classic Cask

In the nearly three decades since his daughters Lauren and Gabrielle joined the family business they have built a portfol io of eight brands and dozens of releases. The Classic Cask is a label of distinctive single barrels and strictly limited releases of Single Malt from some of the best distilleries. About Sullivans Cove French Oak Single Cask Malt Whisky
Sullivans Cove French Oak Single Cask Malt Whisky is made from barley grown exclusively on the island of Tasmania. "The island's deep red basalt soil, pure water and mild temperatures result in a barley that is perfect for distillation," says Patrick Maguire, the distillery's founder and master distiller (his ancestors were convicts that were imprisoned on the island). In addition, the island has one of the oldest and strictest quarantine programs in the world, ensuring that the barley remains untainted.Once the barley has been harvested, it is malted at the Cascade Brewery by Roger Ibbott, who has over four decades of experience malting barley. The malted barley is then mashed and fermented at Sullivans Cove Distillery using a unique strain of yeast developed specifically for the production of Sullivans Cove Whisky. Then, the wash is twice-distilled through a handmade copper-pot still. "The real trick is to cut the run short, so that only the sweetest, best flavors and purest alcohol from the heart of the run is captured", says Macguire. It's not the most sensible approach by an accountant's standards, but then it's a good thing that we are not accountants!"
Following distillation, Sullivans Cove French Oak Single Cask Malt Whisky is matured for twelve years in hand-selected, thirty-year old French oak casks that were previously used to mature port. As a result, the whisky has a lush, floral aroma with notes of chocolate, cherries, dried fruits and toffee, which lead to a supple, dark finish.
Sullivans Cove French Oak earned the Gold Medal at the World Whisky Masters, and also earned a score of 96.5 points in Jim Murray's Whisky Bible. In addition, the whisky was named the "World's Best Single Malt Whisky" by Whisky Magazine in 2014.
"This whisky is distilled with conviction,"Macguire says. Pick up a unique single malt today!
About Sullivans Cove
Situated along the banks of the River Derwent on the island of Tasmania, Sullivans Cove was the site of one of Britain's first penal colonies in Australia. In 1804, at the order of the Governor King of the British settlement of New South Wales, Lt. John Bowen transported some of the most heinous British criminals to Sullivans Cove, which eventually developed into the city of Hobart. Hobart was the perfect penal colony — the area's dense forests required a huge labor force in order to establish a settlement, and its isolation and inaccessibility ensured there was no escape. Today, the island of Tasmania remains of one the most isolated and natural places on earth — approximately 37% of the island is protected as natural reserves.About Whisk(e)y

Located near the confluence of the Rivers Dullan and Fiddich, the distillery draws its water from Jock's Well, which is renowned for its incredibly pure and flavorful spring water (on more than one occasion, nearby distilleries — particularly Mortlach — have been caught attempting to divert water from the well to their own distillery).Singleton of Dufftown Single Malt Scotch Whisky is crafted exclusively from malted barley, which is milled and mashed before being fermented in the distillery's wooden washbacks. About Bomberger's
The Bomberger's Distillery legacy can be traced back to 1753, when two Swiss Mennonite farmers by the name of John and Michael Shenk began distilling rye whiskey on their farm near Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The distillery was passed down through relatives of the Shenk family until 1860 when the distillery was purchased (and subsequently renamed) by Pennsylvania Dutchman Adam Bomberger, who owned and operated the distillery until Prohibition forced its closing in 1919. At that time, Bomberger's Distillery was the oldest operating distillery in the United States, and in many ways represented the transformation of whiskey distilling from an agricultural enterprise to a large-scale industrial one.Today, Bomberger Distillery is recognized as a national landmark and is undergoing a whiskey-making renaissance thanks to the stewardship of Dick Stoll, Bomberger's master distiller. Trained by Everett Beam himself, Stoll is the former master distiller of Pennsylvania Michter's, where he created the famed A.H. Hirsch Bourbon. Eric Wolfe, a business partner, involved in the revitalization of the Bomberger's brand, has said of Stoll, who is now in his 80s, "He knows so many things from doing this for decades, that he doesn't even know what he knows."

There are two main representatives of the American whiskey family, bourbon, and rye, but some other spirits don't fall into those two strictly regulated categories.
There's equally strictly regulated American single malt, made from 100% malted barley, Tennessee whiskey, essentially bourbon filtered through maple charcoal and aged in new charred oak barrels.
And then there's moonshine, a high proof (150- 170 proof) distilled spirit mainly made out of corn which gained popularity during the prohibition.

About The Macallan
Situated on a ridge above the banks of the River Spey, the Easter Elchies House has been the spiritual home of The Macallan for over three centuries. In 1820, Alexander Reid sowed the fields surrounding the rented home with barley and established the first licensed distillery on the estate, which he named Macallan after an ancient church that had been destroyed by fire during the 15th century. In the slow winter days, Reid would ferment and distill his excess grains into whisky, which was often drunk straight from the still or sold to travelers passing through the town.Today, the Macallan Estate encompasses 370 acres, 95 of which are devoted to the production of the Macallan Estate's Minstrel barley (a single acre produces about 2.5 tons of barley each year, enough to yield 1,800 bottles of The Macallan). In addition, the distillery contracts with farmers to purchase barley that is low in nitrogen and high in starch, resulting in a rich and oily whisky.
After the harvest, the barley is malted and mashed in one of The Macallan's two mash tuns, a process that takes between four and eight hours. Then, the barley is fermented with a specially cultured yeast before being distilled twice through The Macallan's copper-pot stills. The copper comprising the stills acts as a catalyst and enhances the formation of sweet esters while minimizing impurities such as sulfur. In addition, the curiously small stills — some of "the smallest stills within the Scotch whisky industry," according to production manager Alexander Tweedie — produce a whisky with a heavy, oily flavor. Following distillation, The Macallan distillers remove the heads and tails of the whisky and collect approximately 16% of the spirit to fill into casks for maturation. This "cut," which is among the highest of any Scottish distillery, results in a more full-bodied and richer whisky.

Jack Daniel’s Holiday Barrel Select Limited Edition Tennessee Whiskey
About Jack Daniel's Holiday Barrel Select Limited Edition Tennessee Whiskey
Jack Daniel's Holiday Select Tennessee Whiskey pays homage to Jack Daniels through the creation of rich new tradition in his hometown of Lynchburg, TN . Each year, the Jack Daniel's Distillery now erects a Barrel Tree — 140 barrels stacked 8 metres tall and hand-built by workers in Lynchburg — in the center of Lynchburg's town square. Once a year, whiskey from those barrels is then bottled straight from the Barrel Tree in a celebration of Jack Daniel's spirit, making each annual release truly one-of-a-kind.The whiskey is made from a mash of corn, rye and malted barley. Once the ingredients have been mashed, they are fermented with a proprietary strain of yeast and iron-free cave spring water. Following fermentation, the wash is distilled and the resulting whiskey is then filtered through 10 feet of charcoal. This filtering process, known as the Lincoln County Process, earns the whiskey the title of "Tennessee Whiskey" and imparts a signature, sweet yet smoky flavor profile.
As a result of maturing in the Barrel Tree, Jack Daniel's Holiday Barrel Select Limited Edition Tennessee Whiskey releases an aroma of rich apple and blackberry tones countered with sweet, heavy oak notes. Apple and oak follow through in the taste, while stronger undercurrents of cinnamon and nutmeg linger warmly on the finish.

About Jack Daniel's
Born on September 5, 1850, Jasper Newton “Jack” Daniel was the youngest of ten children. His parents were of Scottish and Irish descent. In 1864, Jack learned the art of whiskey-making from a preacher and an enslaved man named Nathan “Nearest” Green, who eventually became Jack Daniel Distillery’s head distiller. Daniel’s distillery —founded in Lynchburg, Tennessee, in 1866— was the first registered distillery in the country ( at the time, distilleries were required to register with the federal government, and the Jack Daniel Distillery was given Registered Distillery Number 1). Today, Jack Daniel Distillery is one of the most distinguished and recognizable names in the spirits industry.About American Whiskey

Mortlach 1954 Rare Vintage 58 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky
About Mortlach 1954 Rare Vintage 58 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Situated in the heart of the Speyside region of Scotland, Dufftown is known the Whisky Capital of the World. The village, which produces more malt whisky than any other town in Scotland, is home to seven distilleries, the oldest of which is Mortlach Distillery.Mortlach Distillery was founded in 1823 by James Findlater, together with his friends Alexander Gordon and James Macintosh. In 1831, however, Findlater sold the distillery to John Robertson for the paltry sum of ₤270. In 1837, it was sold again to John and James Grant, who dismantled the distilling equipment and shuttered the doors to the distillery. For the next two decades, the building was used first as a brewery, and then, rather curiously, a church. In 1851, however, the distillery began producing whisky once more. Even at the time, it was an impressive distillery, according to the Wine & Spirits Trade Record. The distillery had two still-houses — “in one there are three old-fashioned stills…in the other there are three larger stills, installed in 1897.” The distillery also had “four gigantic malt floors, and the largest mash tun in the district.”
Mortlach 1954 Rare Vintage Single Malt Scotch Whisky was distilled in 1954 and matured in a first fill sherry butt for 58 years before being bottled in 2012. The whisky has an aroma of dried pineapples, cocoa and sweet fruits that gives way to notes of oak, chili peppers, lemon drops, raisins and fresh tobacco on the palate. The finish is full and drying, with hints of chewy leather and woody spices.

About The Malt Whisky Co.
Eager to satisfy the growing demand for high-quality whisky from customers of his grocery store, James Moir established the Glenglassaugh Distillery in 1875. At the time, it was commonplace for store owners to distill or blend their own whisky (a store owner by the name of Johnnie Walker began blending whisky in the 1830s for his own customers). The location of Glenglassaugh Distillery — it is situated on the outskirts of Banffshire in the Highlands region of Scotland — was chosen because it offered ready access to an incredibly clean and pure water supply: Glassaugh Springs. In addition, the area is surrounded by fields of ripe, plump barley that are ideal for distillation. For over a hundred years, the Glenglassaugh Distillery operated at its original site, producing single malt whiskies that were best known for their starring roles in renowned blended Scotch whiskies, including Cutty Sark and the Famous Grouse. In 1986, however, production at the distillery ceased, and would not be restarted until 2008, when new owners took over Glenglassaugh. While the distillery is again producing new whisky, the new owners discovered they had purchased quite a bit more than the famous distillery itself: th e purchase also included a cache of some 400 casks of aging Glenglassaugh Single Malt whisky, each more than twenty years old.
