Mezcales de Leyendas Mezcales Únicos Montana is the first release in this exlusive series, made from agave montana that grows wild in a valley in Sierra Madre Oriental in Tamaulpas. Created by the Obregon family of mezcaleros, this is the first mezcal in the world, made from agave montana. As a result, this artisanal mezcal blanco delivers a unique and very distinct flavor profile of powerful sweet notes and a very long finish of sweet menthol flavors.Mezcal de Leyendas is focused on bringing artisanal mezcals using rare and unique agaves from different regions within Mexico. Instead of focusing on one particular type, their aim is to use the most prevalent agaves from each region allowing them to guide the consumer across the entire DO of mezcal. These are sourced from diverse regions, highlighting the local terroir as well as showcasing the skills of local Maestros Mezcaleros. Mezcal de Leyendas Reservas de la Biosfera is part of a special collection, dedicated to Mexico's national parks. This is the first release in the series, crafted by the Ortega family, which brings together three generations of maestro mezcaleros working side by side. This artisanal mezcal blanco is made from two types of agave: marmorata and macrocantha, that grow in Tehuacán, Puebla. It's double distilled in copper pot stills and bottled at 96 proof, delivering a smooth tasting experience with mineral saline and slightly peaty notes, rounded by a very long finish.Mezcal de Leyendas is focused on bringing artisanal mezcals using rare and unique agaves from different regions within Mexico. About Michter's 25 Year Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
In the 18th century, a Swiss Mennonite farmer by the name of John Shenk settled his family near Pennsylvania's Blue Mountain Valley. Within a few years, Shenk was harvesting more grains that he could sell, and so he began distilling the excess grains into whiskey. Shenk's distillery, which was eventually named Michter's Distillery, became the United States' first distilling company. Just two decades after Shenk opened the doors to his distillery, General George Washington began purchasing Michter's Distillery Whiskey in order to fortify his men as they camped through a long and brutal winter at Valley Forge. Michter's Distillery, as the saying goes, was the whiskey that warmed the American Revolution.The passage of Prohibition in 1919 forced Michter's Distillery, along with nearly every other distillery in the United States, to close. In the early 1990s however, Joseph J. Magliocco teamed up with Richard Newman in an effort to resurrect the brand. "When we set up our whiskey program for Michter's Distillery," says Magliocco, "Dick and I wanted to get back to the 'cost be damned' roots and produce the finest whiskey possible. Our goal was to show that whiskey made in the United States could be the equal of great whiskey made anywhere in the world."
It's the two 25-year-olds that are the crown jewels in Michter's lineup, the range-topping Straight Rye and Straight Bourbon expressions. These limited-production whiskeys are available as stock permits and have spe nt a quarter of a century in the distillery's finest barrels before being granted the seal of approval by Master Distiller Dan McKee and Master of Maturation Andrea Wilson. Michter's 25 Year Kentucky Straight Bourbon is aged in new, fire-charred American white oak and is bottled at 116.2 proof. It offers great complexity and an exquisite balance of all the classic bourbon notes.

About Midleton Dair Ghaelach Bluebell Forest Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey
The town of Midleton or Mainistir na Corann (Monastery at the Weir) was established in 1180 and is situated midway between Cork City and Youghal Town. The history of Midleton Distillery stretches to 1796 when the main buildings and water wheel were built for the purpose of a woolen mill. The woolen mill enterprise was short-lived and the buildings were sold to the British government who adapted the complex to a military barracks during the Napoleonic Wars of 1803-1815. During this period, the now Distiller’s Cottage was home to the senior British Army staff who occupied the site.Following the departure of the British Army troops, the site was purchased by James Murphy who commenced his distilling business and, in 1825, the first spirit was distilled at the Midleton Distillery. Today, Midleton Distillery marries together time-honored, traditional distillation techniques with modern equipment to produce some of the finest whiskey in all of Ireland.
While it’s commonplace for distilleries in Ireland — and Scotland, for that matter — to use American (ex-bourbon), French (ex-wine) and Spanish (ex-sherry) oak casks to age their whiskey, these distilleries rarely, if ever, use indigenous oak in their aging process. In the case of Ireland, many of the country’s forests were depleted during Elizabethan times, as Britain ordered Irish oak to be used to build warships to defend against the Spanish Armada.
Now, for the first time ever, Midleton Distillery has aged a whiskey in hogshead casks made from virgin Irish oak, naming the whiskey Midleton Dair Ghaelach Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey (Dair Ghaelach means “Irish oak” in Gaelic). The casks were crafted from just ten, 130-year-old oak trees felled from the Ballaghtobin Estate in Co. Kilkenny, Ireland, and the whiskey — triple-distilled and blended from a mash of malted and unmalted barley — rested in the Irish oak casks for nearly a year after already spending 15 to 22 years in American ex-bourbon casks.
According to Billy Leighton, Midleton Distillery’s Master Blender, “The process of maturing in native Irish oak has enabled us to showcase our Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey style in a new and innovative way; the casks impart much more generous toasted wood, vanilla and caramel flavors than what we expect from American bourbon and Spanish oak, which we hope whiskey lovers will appreciate and enjoy.”

Midleton Very Rare is a brand under which the New Midleton Distillery from the East Cork town of Midleton produces its premium Irish whiskeys. The New Midleton Distillery started its operations in 1975, consolidating in one place the production of Irish Distillers Group, which was founded in 1966 through the merger of John Power & Son, John Jameson & Son and the Cork Distilleries Company (which owned the Old Midleton distillery). The distillery is best known for making the famous Jameson Whiskey, but also produces other well-known brands, such as Powers, Paddy and Redbreast. Midleton Very Rare was created in 1984 by Master Distiller Barry Crockett, who guided the New Midleton Distillery on its journey of creating the finest whiskeys in the world for over 30 years. Upon retiring in 2013, he passed the baton to his mentee Brian Nation, who continued to create special and unique whiskey across the Midleton Very Rare portfolio.Midleton Dair Ghaelach is a series of the distillery’s Irish pot still whiskeys matured in traditional bourbon barrels, and finished in Irish oak. Midleton Dair Ghaelach was the first whiskey in over 100 years to be matured in native Irish oak, and Knockrath Forest is the third release in the series. Irish oak barrels were not used before due to the lack of sustainable supply, however following the recent strides in the reforestation of Ireland, the distillers are now able to responsibly procure sustainable native oak for maturation.
Midleton Very Rare Dair Ghaelach Knockrath Forest Tree 2 is made from single pot still Irish whiskeys aged 15 to 28 years, which were matured in traditional Bourbon barrels. What makes it truly unique, are ad ditional 2 years of finishing in virgin Irish oak casks made from trees from the Knockrath Estate. This whiskey is bottled at cask strength of 56.3% ABV.

Situated in the heart of the Speyside region of Scotland, Dufftown is known the Whisky Capital of the World. The village, which produces more malt whisky than any other town in Scotland, is home to seven distilleries, the oldest of which is Mortlach Distillery.Mortlach Distillery was founded in 1823 by James Findlater, together with his friends Alexander Gordon and James Macintosh. In 1831, however, Findlater sold the distillery to John Robertson for the paltry sum of ₤270. In 1837, it was sold again to John and James Grant, who dismantled the distilling equipment and shuttered the doors to the distillery. For the next two decades, the building was used first as a brewery, and then, rather curiously, a church. In 1851, however, the distillery began producing whisky once more. Even at the time, it was an impressive distillery, according to the Wine & Spirits Trade Record. The distillery had two still-houses: "in one there are three old-fashioned stills…in the other there are three larger stills, installed in 1897.” The distillery also had “four gigantic malt floors, and the largest mash tun in the district.”
In 1964, the distillery was largely rebuilt and today, houses a unique configuration of six stills. The stills — three wash stills and three spirit stills — are each different shapes and sizes (one still is nicknamed “Wee Witchie” because it is shaped like a witch’s cap), and aren’t paired together. This unusual configuration, together with the partial triple distillation method used at Mortlach Distillery, produces a whisky that is full-bodied and meaty.
Mortlach 18 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is part of the newest range of Mortlach single malts. Presented in a bottle designed by Laurent Hainaut, the whisky has a golden amber color and vibrant citrus notes on the nose, especially green apple and dried mango. The palate opens with a tad more sweetness, including gingerbread and orange peel, before developing into a thick, silky combina tion of dark chocolate and almonds. The whisky finishes with a dry, earthy spice, conjuring wood and even some tobacco leaves.

Mortlach 1954 Rare Vintage Single Malt Scotch Whisky was distilled in 1954 and matured in a first fill sherry butt for 58 years before being bottled in 2012. The whisky has an aroma of dried pineapples, cocoa and sweet fruits that gives way to notes of oak, chili peppers, lemon drops, raisins and fresh tobacco on the palate. The finish is full and drying, with hints of chewy leather and woody spices.

About Mortlach 30 Year Old Midnight Malt Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Mortlach creates extremely rich and refined single malts, and the pinnacle of them all is the 30 Year Old Midnight Single Malt. When the whiskey was launched, it was accompanied by these words: "When day transcends to night, light changes and shadows emerge. Mortlach Midnight Malt captures the feeling of this moment. Unexpected layers of richness and intensity emerge from a three-cask finish of bold provenance." For a brand whiskey that is already known for its rich seductiveness, it set expectations high.But the Mortlach’s Midnight Malt didn’t fall short. Rested in the combination of American and European Oak, it was then split to finish in casks, seasoned with Bordeaux wine, Calvados, and Guatemalan rum. The whisky was married again in custom quarter casks. The final result is a deep, dark whisky that reveals all of its layers of flavor slowly through the darkest hours of the night. Its release is limited to just 350 bottles annually.

In 1964, the distillery was largely rebuilt and today houses a unique configuration of six stills. The stills — three wash stills and three spirit stills — are each different shapes and sizes (one still is nicknamed "Wee Witchie" because it is shaped like a witch’s cap), and aren’t paired together. This unusual configuration, together with the partial triple distillation method used at Mortlach Distillery, produces a whisky that is full-bodied and meaty.

Situated in the heart of the Speyside region of Scotland, Dufftown is known as the Whisky Capital of the World. The village, which produces more malt whisky than any other town in Scotland, is home to seven distilleries, the oldest of which is Mortlach Distillery.Mortlach Distillery was founded in 1823 by James Findlater, together with his friends Alexander Gordon and James Macintosh. In 1831, however, Findlater sold the distillery to John Robertson for the paltry sum of £270. In 1837, it was sold again to John and James Grant, who dismantled the distilling equipment and shuttered the doors to the distillery. Mortlach 70 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is part of Gordon & MacPhail’s “Generations” label, and was first put into the cask on October 15, 1938 by John Urquhart, the grandfather of Gordon & MacPhail Joint Managing Directors, David and Michael Urquhart. Matured in a Spanish oak, ex-bodega sherry hogshead cask, the whisky was bottled exactly 70 years later, yielding 54 full-size bottles at cask strength (46.1% ABV).
“This is a very special day for us, one we’ve literally been anticipating for generations. Our family has been in the whisky business for a long time, with each generation building and handing on a lifetime’s expertise to the next,” say David and Michael Urquhart.
Mortlach 70 has a delicate aroma of rosewood, black cherries, dates and licorice. The palate is fresh, with starburst notes marrying elegantly with sherried oak and peat smoke, and leads to a supple finish accented by big notes of peaches, saddle leather and candlewax.

The vineyards of the Navarre Estate are generally composed of Ugni Blanc grapes (which are known for their high acidity), along with small plots dedicated to the production of Folle Blanche and Colombard grapes (which Navarre uses for experimentation purposes). Once the grapes reach their peak maturity for distillation purposes, Navarre harvests them by hand " a technique abandoned long ago by most cognac houses. After the grapes are harvested, they are fermented and distilled immediately using a 10 hectoliter (250-gallon) copper-pot charentais still.Following distillation, the cognac is aged in oak barrels for a minimum of 30 years, although the average age of the cognac is closer to 40 or 50 years. The humid environment of Domaine du Renclos " it is situated along the banks of a river " together with the mild, sunny autumns and cool breezes of the Cognac region, naturally reduce the cognac to 90 proof during its three to five decade-long beauty rest.
Navarre Cognac Vieille Reserve has explosive notes of dried apricots, grapes and raisins that compliment a spicy, oaky undertone. The finish, which is long, luxurious and hedonistic, has slightly earthy notes, along with hints of cinnamon, honey and oak.

Situated along the banks of the Charente River in southwestern France, Domaine du Renclos was founded in 1811 by Pierre Navarre, a French shipping merchant. The 11 hectares Navarre Estate, which is the equivalent of only 0.04 square miles, is situated entirely within the Grande Champagne cru of Cognac, France. In 1895, Masataka Taketsuru — the father of Japanese Whisky — was born in the small town of Takehara, Japan. At the time, Masataka's family owned a sake brewery, and in preparing to carry on the family trade, Masataka studied chemistry and biology at Osaka Technical High School. After graduating high school, Masataka showed more interest in whisky than in sake and in 1918, he enrolled at the University of Glasgow in Scotland, becoming the first Japanese ever to study the art of whisky-making. While in Scotland, Masataka took chemistry courses during the day while apprenticing at distilleries at night, learning to distill and blend whisky first-hand at some of Scotland's most prestigious distilleries. In 1920, Masataka returned to Japan, and within the decade, had produced the country's first single malt whisky.In 1934, Masataka moved to the town of Yoichi and opened the doors to Nikka Whisky Co. In 1960, as the Yoichi Distillery was reaching capacity, Masataka began searching for another suitable location in Japan to open a second distillery. Following a three-year search, Masataka found a wide forest valley at the junction of the Hirosegawa and Nikkawagawa rivers. The localized humidity from the rivers and surrounding hills, together with the quality of water from Nikkawagawa River, created the perfect location for a second distillery, which he named Miyagikyo.
Originally launched in 1968, this Collectible Nikka blended whisky comes complete with its own removable metallic Samurai helmet and armor. It was originally launched in 1968 and fe atures a blend of malts. Bottled at 40% ABV.

Yoichi 15 Year Old Single Malt Whisky is a single malt whisky produced exclusively at the Yoichi Distillery. The aroma and delicate body of the whisky are a product of direct-heating distillation (meaning that the pot stills used during distillation are heated with finely powdered natural coal rather than an electrical source), a method that was used centuries ago but is hardly ever used today. The clean air, humidity an d access to underground water filtered through a layer of peat results in a rich and masculine malt. Years later, Masataka established the Miyagikyo Distillery, which is also situated in northern Japan. Surrounded by mountains and two rivers, the Miyagikyo Distillery produces a more mild and feminine whisky as compared to Yoichi.

About Oban 21 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Oban Single Malt Whisky is made using 100% barley, which is malted to the distillery's exact specifications. After the barley is malted, it is partially germinated and gently dried over a peat kiln, giving it a slightly smoky, malty flavor profile. The malted barley is then mashed and fermented before being twice-distilled through Oban's lantern-shaped copper-pot stills. The stills are among the smallest in Scotland, and limit Oban's production to just 650,000 liters of whisky annually.Oban 21 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is the third limited release whisky produced by Oban Distillery in its 219-year history. Released as part of Diageo's 2013 Special Release Whiskies, Oban 21 Year Old was matured for 21 years in rejuvenated American oak and second-fill ex-bodega casks before being bottled at cask strength. The whisky has a copper-golden color, along with an aroma of warm gingerbread, caramel, maple syrup and spicy apples. The aroma gives way to notes of creamy vanilla, barley, stewed pears and ginger on the palate, and leads to a finish accented by salty tang and lemon zest.

About Oban
After moving with their widowed mother to the small port city of Oban (situated in northwest Scotland), John and Hugh Stevenson took jobs building and repairing boats at the city's boatyard, a trade they had learned from their late father. In the 1790s, the brothers left their boat-making jobs and founded a brewery in the city. In 1794, they converted their brewery into Oban Distillery, one of the oldest and most prestigious distilleries in Scotland.For nearly a century, Oban Distillery remained in the hands of the Stevenson family. In 1883, however, J. Walter Higgin purchased the distillery and began renovations. While Higgin renovated both the distillery's equipment and structure, he did so piecemeal in order to ensure that the distillery was able to meet the uninterrupted demand for its whisky. Today, over 100 years later, Oban Distillery remains substantially the same as it was after Higgin's refurbishment.
