Cadenhead Strathclyde 26 Year Old Single Grain Scotch Whisky
About Cadenhead Strathclyde 26 Year Old Single Grain Scotch Whisky
Strathclyde distillery was built on the site of an old cotton mill, in 1927 by London distiller Seager Evans. The facility was originally built as a neutral grain spirit producer for gins. Strathclyde is now Glasgow’s most prosperous distillery. In 1936, Seager Evans moved made the move into the Scotch industry with the purchase of the brand Long John.Strathclyde distillery sits in the Gorbals located in the Lowlands, on the south side of the River Clyde opposite Glasgow Green park. Over the years, Strathclyde underwent numerous ownerships, before ending up within Allied Distillers. By this time Strathclyde had been supplying some of their single grain to big names such as Ballantine’s and Teacher’s. Strathclyde is now part of the Chivas Brothers stable.
After Port Dundas shut down in 2009, Strathclyde was the only remaining whisky distillery in Glasgow for several years. Strathclyde sources its water from the Loch Katrine. Their whiskies are distilled through a 2 column system that has an analyzer and rectifier column, the columns once used for neutral production have since been mothballed.
The entire grain whisky production at Strathclyde is intended for developing blends, but there have been independent and private bottlings. This single grain Strathclyde whisky was released by Cadenhead’s. W.M. Cadenhead is an iconic whisky bottler. The original company was established by William Cadenhead in 1842.
This special small batch release was matured in a single fresh first fill bourbon cask for 26 years. Only 168 bottles of this whisky exist in the world. "A fantastic rich aromatic, smooth Strathclyde…This vintage has a deep orange amber color that almost looks like sherry cask with some rather amazing sherry-like notes after it's opened in the glass for about 10-15 mins. Very enjoyable indeed" (producer).

About Scotch
Scotch is the most popular whisky in the world and is considered the king of them all! There are five whisky regions in Scotland (six if you count the not officially recognized Islands), and each of them produces spirits with unique properties and distinct tasting notes. (The type of grain used determents the type of the scotch.)
Malt whisky is made of malted barley, and grain whisky uses other grains like corn or wheat. Most of the time, a whisky is blended from different distilleries hence the name blended scotch, but if a malt whisky is produced in a single distillery, we get something extraordinary called a single malt.

About Canadian Club
In 1858 Hiram Walker opened a whisky distillery that would become a North American symbol. Walker first founded his distillery in 1858 in Detroit. He had learned how to distill cider vinegar in his grocery store in the 1830s he produced his first whisky barrels in 1854. in 1891 Canadian Club, more popularly known as "CC," became the first North American spirit to receive a Royal decree, from Queen Victoria. This ordained and highly acclaimed.Prohibition forced Walker to leave the "dry" state of Michigan, and strategically transplant his distillery across the Detroit River to Windsor, Ontario. Located just over the border Walker was actually able to continue legally producing whisky when the sale of beverage alcohol was prohibited in the United States. Whisky also became one of the most smuggled whiskies in the U.S. at the start of Prohibition. The Canadian Club became a haven of clandestine activities at the peak of America’s Prohibition.
Rumor has it that CC was highly favored by the likes of Al Capone and that he had a lucrative business scheme smuggling the spirit across the Detroit River. Walker’s whisky was particularly po pular in the late 19th century gentlemen's clubs of the United States and Canada; this is where it got the name "Club Whisky".

About Cascade Moon
Cascade Moon Editions is a new premium label of higher end whiskies, made at the Cascade Hollow Distilling Co., which famously produces George Dickel. The distillery was previously named George Dickel distillery after George A. Dickel who was born in a rural town in eastern Tennessee. By 1867, Dickel was an established Nashville merchant but moved his family to the city of Tullahoma (situated in south-central Tennessee), where he purchased the Cascade Hollow Distillery. After working tirelessly at the distillery, Dickel declared that his spirits were of equal quality to the finest scotch, and followed in the Scottish tradition of spelling whisky without an "e".While George A. Dickel Distillery was forced to close its doors as a result of Prohibition, it was rebuilt in 1958 by Master Distiller Ralph Dupps. To ensure the whisky's authenticity, Dupps obtained the original manuscripts in which Dickel detailed his unique recipe and distillation processes. The distillery was closed again in the 1990's due to the supply of George Dickel exceeding the demand – this allowed the value of whis ky to rebound and the distillery reopened its doors again in 2003. Today, the distillery is owned by Diageo.

Chichibu The First Japanese Single Malt Whisky
About Chichibu The First Japanese Single Malt Whisky
For nearly three centuries, Ichiro Akuto's family brewed sake along the banks of the Tone River in central Japan. Following the end of World War II, his family received a distiller's license and purchased two second-hand stills from a Scottish distillery. By the turn of the century, however, his father had made the difficult decision to dismantle the stills and sell the 400 casks of remaining whisky that were still maturing in the distillery's rickhouses. Fueled by a belief in the potential for Japanese single malts, Ichiro purchased the casks from his father. In addition, Ichiro began studying distillation techniques at Benriach and Springbank Distillery, before returning to Japan and constructing a state-of-the-art distillery in Chichibu.Chichibu The First is the first official release of whisky from the Chichibu Distillery. The whisky was made by marrying together eight casks of maturing whisky, seven of which were crafted from American oak and previously used to mature bourbon and one crafted from Japanese Mizunara oak. Following a three-year maturation period, the whisky was bottled at cask strength. Chichibu The First Japanese Single Malt Whisky has an aroma of sandalwood, herbs and citrus, which gives way to notes of barley, woody spices and whipped cream on the palate. The finish is elegant and smooth, with touches of citrus, vanilla, caramel and plum. The whisky was named the Japanese Whisky of the Year by Whisky Advocate. About Clynelish
Founded in 1819, Clynelish Distillery is situated along the stormy coast of Sutherland County in the Highlands region of Scotland. The distillery was first established by the Marquis of Stafford who, after marrying into the Sutherland family, became the first Duke of Sutherland. For a number of years after the original distillery was constructed, the quality of Clynelish whisky was so prized that only friends of the Duke were able to purchase the whisky.Today — nearly two centuries after its initial founding — Clynelish Distillery continues to use many of the same ingredients, including Highlands-malted barley and water sourced from Clynemilton Burn, in crafting its single malt whisky as it did under the stewardship of the Duke of Sutherland. Once the malted barley and water arrive at the distillery, the grains are milled and mashed before being fermented in Clynelish's wooden washbacks. While wooden washbacks are more expensive and difficult to maintain as compared to stainless steel washbacks, they absorb a portion of the heat generated during the fermentation process and thus, create a lighter and more rich whisky. After fermentation, the wash is distilled twice: f irst through Clynelish's copper-pot wash still and then again through its spirit still.

"Like a winemaker blending grape varieties, we can create layers of complexity by blending whisky," says Glaser, who was named "Innovator of the Year" four times by Whisky Magazine and "Pioneer of the Year" twice by Malt Advocate. Compass Box Magic Cask started with an experimental maturation in 2016, when they re-racked a robust one-year-old malt spirit into first-fill oloroso sherry-seasoned butts sourced from Bodega José y Miguel Martín (J&MM). After 3 years, a particular cask (#2) stood out from the rest. By that time, they had been sitting on a parcel of first-fill bourbon casks of single malt from the now-defunct Imperial Distillery for quite some time. When the younger malt from the oloroso-seasoned casks was blended with this whisky, magic happened. The final blend consists of 92% single malt from The Imperial Distillery and 8% sherry-seasoned malt from a distillery near the town of Aberlour. Bottled at 92 proof, it's a fruity, oaky, and rich whisky that was bottled without chill-filtration or added color.Get one of only 5,538 bottles of this unique blended Scotch today!
About Compass Box
Since its inception in 2000, Compass Box Whisky Company has been stewarded by John Glaser, one of the most progressive and innovative whisky blenders of his generation. "Like a winemaker blending grape varieties, we can create layers of complexity by blending whisky," says Glaser, who was named "Innovator of the Year" four times by "Whisky Magazine" and "Pioneer of the Year" twice by "Malt Advocate". While Glaser initially began his career in the industry as a marketing agent, he quickly realized that by blending quality whiskies, he was able to create a product that was greater than the sum of its rare parts.Compass Box Hedonism is a unique blend of grain Scotch whisky. Nearly a century ago, grain whiskies were common across Europe, but were overtaken in terms of popularit y when the larger distilleries in Scotland began focusing on single malt whisky. "When good Scotch grain whisky is aged in good quality American oak casks, the results can be stunning," says Glaser.

About Cognac
Cognac is a type of brandy produced in the Cognac region of France.
Because the French take it very seriously, there are numerous rules cognac makers have to follow not to fall “short” into the brandy category.
The white wine from the specific grapes (Ugni blanc) has to be doubly distilled in a copper pot still before being aged for at least two years in oak casks from which the wood can only come from two specific forests in France (Limousin or Tronçais).
Depending on the age, there are three types of cognac, the youngest V.S. (Very Special), V.S.O.P. (Very Superior Old Pale), and the X.O. (Extra Old)

About Cragganmore
Situated in the Speyside region of Scotland, the Cragganmore Distillery was founded by John Smith in 1870. Smith heralded from a dynastic whisky family — his family had previously been involved in the operation of the Macallan, Glenfarclas and Glenlivet distilleries, and he was related to George Smith, the founder of the Glenlivet Distillery. The name of the distillery (Cragganmore translates to "big rock"in ancient Galiec) is from derived the greenstone rocks sourced from a nearby hill that were used to build the distillery's infrastructure and maturation warehouses. Upon Smith's death in 1886, his son largely rebuilt the distillery and refurbished its equipment while preserving its traditional distillation techniques.Today, the Cragganmore Distillery continues to honor the Smith legacy by crafting a unique single malt whisky made exclusively from lightly smoked barley. Once the barley arrives at the distillery, it is mashed in one of the distillery's six stainless steel mashtuns before being fermented in washbacks made of European larch. While larch washbacks are more difficult and expensive to maintain as compared to steel washbacks, they absorb a portion of the heat generated during fermentation and thus, contribute to a more robust flavor profile.
Following fermentation, the whisky is distilled twice through Cragganmore's copper-pot stills. The distillery's unique, flat-topped spirit stills (most distilleries have swan-shaped stills) and traditional worm-tubs (most distilleries use cooling conden sers) contribute additional complexity and flavor to the whisky.

About Daftmill
Situated in the Howe of Fife, a valley in Scotland, Daftmill is a family farm that mainly grows cereals and potatoes and rears cattle. It is named after a local stream, called "The Daft Burn", which plays a trick on the eye when viewed from a certain point, making it seem as if the river is running uphill. The farm has been operational for 6 generations but it wasn't until more recently that brothers Ian and Francis Cuthbert ― whisky lovers and perfectionists ― finally opened the doors of the distillery that was long in coming.Their own malted barley was on hand, so was an artesian spring, and an old mill building was converted into a distillery in 2004 and 2005. All the labor and equipment ― apart from their stills from Forsyths in Rothes ― came from local craftsmen. It was on November 30, 2005 that they received their license at last. The first whisky was distilled 2 weeks later. Then came the waiting game, as they expected that their spirits would not reach the market before they have aged for at least a decade. Indeed, they began releasing the whisky in 2018 at 12 years of age.
Using their own farm-grown barley and artesian-well water they craft fine Lowlands whisky with minimal waste where all the magic happens within a 5-mile radius of the farm. Daftmill is a farm first and distillery second, as the latter only operates during midsummer and winter, during the farm's quiet periods ― a practice that used to be the norm in Scotland, but has become ext remely uncommon in the past century. This means that all their spirits come in super-limited quantities.
