About Woodford Reserve Masters Collection Sonoma Cutrer Pinot Noir Finish
Woodford Reserve Sonoma-Cutrer Pinot Noir Finish represents the ninth expression in the Masters Collection series. This year’s release is uniquely crafted by taking Woodford Reserve bourbon — which is triple distilled through traditional, copper-pot stills before being aged for approximately seven years in new American oak barrels — and transferring that near-finished product to ex-Pinot Noir barrels from the Sonoma Cutler Winery in California for an additional 10 months.
This extended finishing process gives Woodford Reserve Sonoma-Cutrer Pinot Noir Finish a bright aroma of cherry and blackberries, as well as some core notes of cinnamon and oak. The palate is filled with marzipan and more spices, particularly clove, as well as a hint of butterscotch. The whiskey lingers on the finish, with more berries and sour grapes, along with deep oak and just a touch of licorice.
Woodford Reserve Sonoma-Cutrer Pinot Noir Finish is a brand-new, limited edition whiskey, and we have only a select number of bottles available. Pick one up today!
About Woodford Reserve
The Woodford Reserve Distillery sits on what was once an old Distillery founded by Elijah and his son, Oscar Pepper, in the 1800s. Years later, under the stewardship of Oscar and Master Distiller James Crow, their distillery reformed and modernized producing whiskey in the United States — the distillery revolutionized the concepts of sour mash and yeast propagation.
Today, the distillery is among Kentucky’s oldest and smallest bourbon distilleries. Nestled in the heart of the Commonwealth’s thoroughbred country, it’s the only place you’ll find bourbon and horses maturing side by side. It’s also one of a handful of spirits companies in the world to own a cooperage and craft its barrels, allowing for ultimate precision when creating exact toast and char specifications.
